AASL seeks proposals for Concurrent Sessions to be presented at the AASL 15th National Conference
The American Association of School Librarians (AASL) is currently seeking concurrent session proposals for the AASL 15th National Conference to be held in Minneapolis, MN. The theme is "Turning the Page." The deadline for proposals is Monday, November 1, 2010.
Proposals must include the following:

Complete contact info for all speakers. Please note that the person submitting a group proposal will be considered the Lead Presenter/Main Author and the main contact for the presentation.

Presentation title

Specify program length
-
Program outline – This should outline the main points of the program, its relevance to attendees, and how you would incorporate at least one active learning exercise in your session.

Program description – You will be asked to write a long description (300 words) for Committee review, a short description (75 words) for marketing purposes and to include up to 3 Learning Objectives.

Support of the AASL Strategic Plan, the AASL Standards for the 21st-Century Learner or Empowering Learners: Guidelines for School Library Media Programs. Please explain how your program would support these plans.

How to submit
Access the online Proposal Submission Form
and fill it out completely. Submissions will only be accepted through this online form. Faxed, emailed or mailed submissions will not be accepted. Please feel free to review the questions
prior to using the online form.
Selection criteria
Submissions will be evaluated for clarity, originality and timeliness. Special attention will be given to submissions that incorporate one or more of these characteristics:

Demonstrates innovative thinking and/or new perspectives

Presents strategies for effectively implementing new ideas and technology

Incorporates at least one active hands-on learning exercise

Design includes activities that will incorporate various learning styles
-
Demonstrates how learning outcomes would be achieved

Supports the AASL strategic plan, the AASL Standards for the 21st-Century Learner and the Empowering Learners: Guidelines for School Library Media Programs.
